Day Three Alphabet Street...

To go with the theme of thier names, describing themselves we set out to create a self portrait. I let the kids look and different styles of painting on the computer and they chose Fauvism. We all learned alot of new stuff today. We also learned that Van Goh was a missionary, he sold everything he had and gave it to the poor before becoming an artist at age 27. The kids love his name and his work. Finished paintings will be posted tomorrow, but here's today's work! I love them. But, as much as I love them, I have to say that Jax again melted my heart tonight at dinner. When he was describing the artist and paintings, he said, " and I think we should give them away to the poor" My lips curled into a big smile and my heart dipped. We decided to take them to a child at the childrens hospital as our service project for this week! Thank you God for my little blessings... Our life is yours, continue to mold it and give us a heart for what breaks yours.
