Power in letting go...

One of the things I am struggling with since Haiti is all the stuff that surrounds me. I wear one pair of shoes all summer long... A pair of Birkenstocks that have perfectly molded themselves to my toes, so why is it then that I have a bin full of shoes? I really might wear 4 pairs out of the at least 20 pairs that I have accumulated over the years. Grantid most of them, well 98% of them are at least 10 years old... You really do not need a different pair to match every outfit girls.... It's not that important. Yet, piled in my closet lay a huge bin of shoes... Until tomorrow...

It's time for me to let go so others can grab hold, and not just of my shoes... It's time for me to fully let go of everything I'm storing up so that someone else can drink it up, soak it in and be clothed by its goodness. It's time to purge....

This orphanage in Hait holds a peiceof my soul. I can't be there all the time but I can let go of a lot so that 420 little fingers can grab hold.... Yes 42 little people with 10 fingers each need something to grasp a hold of, something that shows them, proves to them, promises them that they are not forgotten...

Love the song lyrics that say " I wanna live like that, and give it all I have so that everything I say and do points to you...."

A box full of shoes is only the beginning of all the chaos I have to purge, but it's an easy place to start and I am quite sure the return is worth the investment to those 420 dark chocolate, sun wrinkled little fingers waiting for something to grasp hold of....

Will you purge with me?

Love and Blessings,

.... From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.
