Are We Contributing To A Culture Of Orphans?

Thursday, September 26, 2013

I can not tell you how many AMEN'S I want to shout at the Post below that I have linked to this one!!! I am so proud to work for Noonday Collection and have a "boss" Jessica Mayfield Honegger that believes so deeply in these ideals, at the top of the list "creating work that allows people a livable wage in order to KEEP their families together." This is why I work for Noonday. This is why it matters so much my friends!

And on that same note, with much love and tenderness from a foster Mamma who could not have loved her son more if he had her DNA,  we should not adopt or foster orphans for ANY other reason than because each of us realized and identifies deeply with the fact that we were each adopted by Christ. We should adopt to give a child that same eternal opportunity, not because we are looking to fill an empty void in ourselves or our families.

Adoption and foster care should not be your plan B.

It was never Christ's for you or me. These are human beings and while adoptions can bring much joy it's about the giving away, not the getting... They are never easy or uncomplicated or without hurt or void. And although there is absolutely a time and place and calling, it must be done so carefully and with so much prayer and petition. There are millions of children in need of living families.

This blog is incredible. Jessica was at Idea Camp, she's a big player in this arena and I am soooo grateful for all I have learned from her and through her journey to defending the fatherless!

Read it, pray about it and formulate your own piece to the puzzle and then DO SOMETHING...
