Blog Makeover and A Giveaway

Wednesday, March 12, 2014

Well, we've had a makeover! Welcome to the new digs here, I am quite pleased!

I have been in this season of wanting to make all of my spaces feel light and clean. Since I can't afford to repaint my entire home and redecorate, I decided my blog was a good place to start. Inspired by the colors of my favorite place, the coast, I hope you will find this space a clean and restful place to weave your stories into those you find here. The shoreline is that place of rest and perspective and peace for me. I love how God paints the skies in pinks and oranges over the ocean at sunset, how He sends blue waters crashing against sandy shores. It is rhythm is rest to me, which is what I want this space to be as well. Rest for the real in our lives. Rest for the weary, the restless and the joyful. Rest for the stories that make us who we are and what we want to become.

On deeper stories and arrows and such:

I am a deep thinker an a passionate lover of way below the surface conversations. I remember in high school I had this one very random guy friend who would engage me in the deepest of discussions. On the surface he looked like any other typical high school senior, but man did we have some good talks! I loved them. He forced me to think outside the box and his mind was far more intriguing to me than his football uniform. So for as long as I can remember, I have loved the why's behind the ordinary surface talk. Everyone has a why? Everyone has a deeper story and more grueling questions inside than the typical safe, easy talk and this year I am intentional about being authentic in mine. I hope you will too!

Which brings me to the arrows on the blog. Someone {probably one of my pintrestaholic friends, C or A} sent me this image last year. I love it. I love it's meaning and I love it's message, because don't we all some days feel like we just keep getting pulled backwards? Looking back to my "alters" as my friend Liz calls them, I can see how my seasons of waiting or being seemingly drug in the opposite direction of where I wanted to go have led me to exactly where I needed to be. It's in those moments that we gain the training and momentum we need to soar through the challenging and into the divine. So, even my little blog design has a deeper story!

I hope that you will come by often. I am also starting a regular schedule of guest posts and such where we can really weave our stories together to encourage one another! There are so many things in life we do so much better if we choose to do them in community. In fact, I truly believe it's impossible to truly thrive and be everything we were created to be without deep connections to those journeying along with us.

If you would like to be one of those that posts here regularly, once a month or just randomly, comment below. Also leave me a comment on what you'd like to talk about here in this new place. I have plenty of ideas, but I would love to hear from you!

In honor of the new face, I'm giving away ANOTHER Noonday treat! These bracelets are sun and shore right? Made in Uganda by my precious friend Jalia and her family of 300 employees, they are beautiful turquoise and salmon paper bead bracelets! The perfect summer stacking kind! I am so proud to work for Noonday Collection as an ambassador for so many talented artisans! You can read more about that story by clicking the Noonday Collection Tab on my blog header.

  1. Beautiful blog! I love the colors! I think any posts that provide an opportunity to be honest and vulnerable and have that "you too? i thought it was just me" moment are very powerful.

  2. I absolutely love your redesign - beautiful and simple. I think that I most need a post on how to be more present for my children and still retain a sense of self. I'm really struggling with that right now. The old "I love my children but sometimes I want to lock myself in the bathroom" struggle.

  5. I want to hear stories of vulnerability... and how that moved you or others to bow down to glory. But mainly your heart for the world. Your heart for women.

  7. I don't know if I would change anything about your blog. I love the authentic rawness that it has because it is truly a reflection of the Amanda I have come to know and love since moving to Tennessee.
